Possessor, provenience: Together with several other books, the volume was donated by King Matthias to the Carthusian Monastery of Lövöld (today's Városlőd) in 1480, after he had visited the monastery, accompanied by his wife.

Binding: The binding of the book was made in the bookbinding workshop of the Carthusian monastery of Lövöld in the second half of the 15th century. It features blind-tooled decoration and has a brown full-leather binding. The motif set and the structural setup of the board decoration include both Gothic and Renaissance elements. The book was fastened with a right-to-left fastening, Nuremberg-type clasp.
