One of the corvinas kept in Dresden, a military technology work by Roberto Valturio (Mscr.Dresd.R.28.m) is also on display at the exhibition of the Saxon State and University Library Dresden (SLUB Dresden) entitled “Flourish, German Florence!” Dresden and Italy. The exhibition will be open from November 8, 2018 until May 5, 2019. To be more precise, only one restored pair of sheets of the corvina will be exhibited, since the codex has been kept in an unbound state.
During World War II, when Dresden was bombed in 1945, the basement of temporary keeper of the corvinas Japanese Palace (Dresden) was flooded with water, due to which the codices were badly damaged. Saxon State and University Library Dresden is now planning to totally restore both corvinas.
