Possessor, provenience: the codex was made as a gift to Matthias Corvinus in Florence in 1481 or the first half of 1482; the manuscript was personally brought to Buda by the Florentine humanist Francesco Bandini (?–1490) before 20 September 1482; after Matthias' death, the fate of the manuscript is unknown until 15 March 1623, when Thomas Lansius (1577–1657), professor at Tübingen, presented it to Augustus II, Duke of Brunswick (r. 1635-1666) (the letter of presentation is pasted into the manuscript)
